AOS was founded in 1996 by David and Kimberly Jolley. Originally American Ocean Systems, they started their venture doing deep water engineering in Honolulu, Hawaii. With David's extensive knowledge of saturation diving, it was an easy step into compressed breathing air systems for firefighters. Holding a double doctorate in Engineering, David was able to develop testing equipment that was suitable for transportation, a revolutionary feat.
The attacks of 9/11 lent to AOS signing a PACAF contract with the US Air Force. At this point their services extended across the world. Their team traveled to areas where on-base services where crucial such as combat areas (Iraq, Afghanistan) and remote areas including Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Diego Garcia and parts of the Antarctic.
As the U.S. Military began making NFPA recommendations the standard requirements, AOS services evolved with their needs. They began developing relationships with various manufacturers, increased the service locations around the world and developed more fly-away systems. When deployed Fire Chiefs of bases AOS previously worked with returned to the U.S., they recognized the need for the same level of service at home. So AOS designed a modern trailered system to service all of the continental U.S.
AOS is now based in Rockport, Texas and is run by Kimberly Jolley and her team of product area experts. They continue to offer the same level of service and innovation they have for the past 20 years and look forward to doing it for the next 20.
